Holds four towels and a stack of washcloths but no towels
The towels I have are of medium to good quality, so definitely not flimsy, but not terribly thick either. Four rolled towels can be placed on this shelf, but I should note that the fourth is basically wedged above the others and resting on the top shelf. If you have very thin towels, the fourth can roll off. Note that this rack will hold a stack of washcloths on it, but no room for towels unless you stack them all together. I don't mind because it saves so much closet space. I just place the towels on the toilet lid and the towel rail just above it so everything is in one place.
