Reviews are confusing but it seems some people are buying the wrong straws. NOTE 1: Greant makes TWO types of Hydro Flask straws. One is for WIDE MOUTH fasteners (this listing) and the other is for STANDARD MOUTH fasteners. MAKE SURE YOU BUY THE RIGHT CAP FOR YOUR CAP TYPE! However, I bought the correct type (wide mouth) and it fits very tight. I really need to jiggle it into the lid mount. But once it's in, it's good to go. NOTE 2: These straws are CUT TO LENGTH, which means if you have a shorter water bottle you can cut the straw to the length you need. We ended up cutting it at a slight angle to prevent the vacuum effect. If you prefer a straight straw, you can bend the bottom of the straw slightly so it doesn't hit the bottom of the bottle, or cut it a little shorter. We used kitchen scissors to cut and it was very easy to do.
