To be honest I have a pretty big head. I mean I have to wear a two size XL men's hat. I may not be the most objective person here. However, the stripes were cute, would probably fit on a normal sized head. In fact, these are two straps connected by a loop in the middle. The hinge sticks out a bit, which I really don't like. The base of the headband has an elastic section, but that's all you can stretch. If you have very fine hair I wouldn't recommend this as the top of the headband sticks out where the two loops meet. I have thick hair so it's not that noticeable.
