Mech. Excellent design, strict look. Bought these for me and my family. Crackling noises could be heard from the box almost immediately when listening to music. I asked my 13 year old son if he liked it and he was anything but positive. My 15 year old daughter was the same way. Almost three months later, I discovered that my family was wearing Apple's original "hard" white plastic earbuds or over-ear headphones, not these. It says a lot when nobody wants to use them anymore.
