I was a bit nervous about this one based on some other reviews which I think raised legitimate questions about looks and usability. Luckily I didn't have the problems others had. I ordered a 25 foot brown cable shroud to cover some of the speaker wires and network cables in my living room. The first 15 to 20 feet of cable covers had little to no styling issues. If you look at the length of the ridge in the attached photo, you can see a slight rise on the right where it passes under the entertainment center. Otherwise he went to bed without my intervention. It helped that I unrolled the length, put heavy books on either end and left it flat for a few days before working on it. The inside of the coil has a flat lay issue, but I haven't had to use this part yet. When I do this, I use tricks that others have used, such as: B. rolling it the other way, putting it in the sink and simmering, then laying it out on a flat surface when it's most pliable. The color was pretty much what I expected. I ordered brown and got a nice medium brown. As you can see, it's quite noticeable against the hardwood background, but after a few days I didn't even notice it. Due to the fact that I have it and that it's secured fairly well on both ends, I found I didn't have to use tape to hold it in place. When I'm not fiddling it stays pretty well where I put it. My ILife robot vacuum has no issues with the cord cover, it slides over it with no issues or tangles and doesn't pinch. There were two things I didn't like about this cable case. First, despite its width (which turned out to be wider than I expected, about 1.5 times the diameter of a typical 12-ounce soda can), it really can't hold much. I was hoping to only use one length of wire from my entertainment center to the surround speakers, but with two pairs of 12 gauge speaker wire and an antenna wire, the first wire was full so two of these were needed. To be fair, 12 gauge wire is pretty thick; If I were to use the typical thin speaker cables I've used before, I could mount them all. The second small issue is that, as another reviewer noted, they are dust/lint magnets. I have no idea where this came from, but within a few hours both parts of the cable cover were speckled with visible lint. And it was in a fairly clean house with no kids or pets snooping around. I suppose these are normal things that come in through open windows, are watched from outside etc. and then get blown around by the wind and usually end up in a corner or under furniture. Well, now it lands on those cord caps and sticks to the elastic. Spring . more incentive for me to suckle more often. In general I think this is normal. They are wider than I expected but I had to look at the ruler before buying and they don't hold up as much as I would like but they get the job done with a minimum of fuss. They are easy to cut to length with a utility knife and fit pretty well where you place them. Depending on where you place them, you may not even need carpet tape or other double-sided tape. Overall I'm happy and it's a lot cheaper to use this cable cover than to hire a professional to run these cables through walls and under floors for me.
