The design reminded me of Steve Jobs' favorite company - Braun. A strict laconic image, nothing flashy and pretentious, everything is confident and solid. Turning on the SL II, at first I did not believe that such an elegant little thing could “hack” like that. It remains to choose between SL Mini, SL II and SL III. Arriving at the store, all 3 models were available. The price in Portugal (Porto) turned out to be 189 euros for the Mini, 299 for the SL II, and the SL III for 289 euros (of which 37 are Tax Free). If II cost 50 euros less, I would certainly prefer it, plus it has a convenient magnetized case. Why didn't you take the Mini? Purely psychologically, overpaying only 100 euros, I get a fully-fledged large speaker from Bose. COMPARISON of sound of SL Mini, SL II and SL III. The sound of the Mini plays very well, even with an abundance of bass. But in terms of volume it cannot compete with II and III. Comparing Mini and III, the difference became clear only with increasing volume. The sound is more powerful, voluminous and loud. The Mini has a pronounced bass that seems overbearing at low volumes. Comparing SL II and SL III, then everything is not so simple. They play very, very similar. In peak modes III is a bit more stable. The volume and power are quite comparable. III plays somewhere ¼ better, but no more. II and III are almost the same in size and weight, III is 1 cm longer and one floor higher. The weight is about the same. OBSERVATIONS The sound depends on the room and the distance from the wall. The instructions say to place the SL a few inches from the wall (2.54 cm inch), then the low frequencies reflected from the back wall will better fill the room with surround sound. I use SL III in the bedroom (15 meters), the sound is somewhat oversaturated, but pleasant. If I listen to music in an office (25 meters), then the sound is the most optimal. Loud, powerful and good quality. When using the III indoors, about 100 meters, the volume is enough to head, but with saturation and power it’s not the same, it starts to play insipidly. Although, the volume reserve is enough with the head.
