With three cats I needed more space. With fussy cats, I needed more "clean" areas to make my life easier. It offers just that. It's larger than most "giant" rectangular boxes without taking up too much space. Garbage disposal has been drastically reduced. Basically, it's just junk tracked down with paws. Good thing is the indentation at the front that gives you the feeling of not being closed. I don't use a box with a lid because none of my cats are used to it. At the same time, the dust rising from the garbage is more noticeable outdoors. It also makes cleaning easier, so maybe a dust mask could help those who are sensitive to flying dust. Or less dusty bedding. I don't throw the box away like a lot of cat lovers do so I don't expect problems with brittle plastic, but it's a little less durable than I expected which is why it gets a four star rating instead of five. But sitting in the corner and doing what I'm supposed to do makes me very happy. Even my big dog fits in it easily. My new kitty doesn't miss given the high walls. I used an "old" fountain pen from her previous box to make the transition smoother. And it worked properly. Some cats are afraid of new things or are drawn away from "familiar" objects. So smelling something familiar about this big monster helped them, and there was no problem switching. Just a little tip if you are picky. Cat. I can brush it twice a day and it's just right. The last thing he urged to clean up was only twice. So less work for me, more cleanliness for the cat's paws. I recommend this box - just don't try to pick it up with the trash.
