I've tried other brands of cotton swabs and always regretted it. They are (mostly) well padded at the ends with a tight wrap. Sometimes a single tampon with a looser wrapper or less batting at the end will suffice; However, 99% of them are perfect. This box is big. I have long enough. Although most people use cotton swabs for their ears (be careful not to get them in the ear canal), they can be used for many other purposes. I use them to clean, apply sticky substances for more or less accurate location, and clean insects from plants with rubbing alcohol. β Debbie Lee Wesselman
