Review on πŸ’‘ Powerful, DOT Approved 90W LED Headlights for Jeep Wrangler 97-2017 & More – High/Low Beam, JK TJ LJ JKU Rubicon Sahara H1 H2, Toyota Land Cruiser, Dodge Dakota – 2 PCS Black by Kris Martin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

They look amazing in black with my black grille and are really bright - JKU Rubicon

So I bought these headlights to test, although I had wanted to switch to LED for a long time. Shortly after I bought a Jeep (Jeep JK Unlimited Rubicon 2015) I swapped out the stock bulbs (shit) for good quality halogen bulbs - basically the brightest I could find in an auto parts store and they were significantly better than the stock bulbs. As I said, I've wanted to buy LEDs for a long time and had the opportunity to get them for testing. So let's get started. 1) They were well packaged and boxed in a plain blue cardboard box with an ID sticker on it. It really isn't a problem. 2) There was an instruction manual inside, I saw others complain that some lamps were missing it. 3) Also inside were the 2 adapter cables needed to connect to the Jeep connectors and a bag of zip ties - I thought that was a nice touch. Now for the "fine details". 4) I've seen a lot of people comment that the headlight on the right doesn't fit in a Wrangler bucket without cutting it. I can confirm that. I had to cut a small notch in the bucket where the mounting flanges go on the headlight itself. Once I figured out what to do I simply used a utility knife to trim away the outer edge of the top inside of the right headlight. After that, a strong guard squeezed in there. You may also need to cut the top left. Your mileage may vary. 5) The driver's side side light went in safely with no cutting required - I find this odd but apparently MANY people have this on later JK/JKU models. I think this is a Jeep problem, not a headlight problem, although the flanges on these headlights are slightly larger than the flanges on my old headlights. and no trouble connecting the connector from the flashlight to the adapter. I've seen others with this complaint on other lights. To be on the safe side I used some tape at the connection point in the light. However, you can use the cable ties provided to secure the wires. To be honest, I just hid them behind the headlight again. 7) CHECK: I highly recommend that you test the connectors and headlights before attaching the grille and anything else. For low beam - 2 small cylindrical lamps on the sides and the top (small) round one should be on. For high beam, add a big round one below. I had no problems - everything should burn - hooray. HE - and flickering is not noticed. 8) DIRECTION: As others have noted they are really bright and after installation the new headlights were aimed higher than the old ones. (See picture.) Before I changed the lightbulbs, I put a piece of tape on the wall where the lightbulb on the driver's side was cut off. After the new ones were installed, I had to adjust the driver's side and the passenger's side a bit more. Each bulb has a T15 adjustment screw located at approximately 10 o'clock on the passenger side and approximately 2 o'clock on the driver's side as shown. A few laps and everything was fine. 9) After that - I just had to recompress the bars and - DONEI installed them on a Saturday morning and it's only 1pm so I'll try to add a note to this review. after driving it tonight. UPDATE: Just drove around the block including the street with no lights. They give off a lot of truly white (possibly white/blue) light. I am very happy.
