I wanted this particular case because I thought the MB Air looked too good to hide under a solid case. I also immediately ordered a laptop bag for the computer (Lacdo 360 Case). The soft case and air cushions kept things from moving around in the box, so the case didn't get damaged or scratched in transit as other reviewers have pointed out. The case itself was packaged in a protective sleeve that contained a protective film for the screen and keyboard. As you can see from the photos, the top and bottom have been rolled up and separated by a plastic insert to keep them from rubbing against each other, and then each lid has been re-wrapped in its own protective film. It seems like an exaggeration, but when I finally removed all of the protection, there was no damage or scratches to the case. What I noticed is that the parts are flexible and, while smooth, provide a good grip on the laptop when powered on. The directions were not very clear in the sense that there were more ridges on the lids than there actually were. I didn't take the advice to tighten the lower case first. Both pieces fit snugly, so be prepared to put in some effort to snap these covers back onto the laptop. The top cover has two tabs on the front that snap onto the front edge of the top of the laptop. As you can see from the photos, the back edges of the lid have rounded ribs that fit snugly against the back of the computer. To attach the lid, I first pressed the back edges against the laptop's lid as firmly as possible. As said, prepare to put in some effort. Once the back panel is fully installed, snap the tabs into place on the front of the laptop. Be sure to press the other edges of the lid onto the laptop lid as shown in the picture. The screen protector is applied in the same way as a cell phone screen protector. They provide something to clean the screen before putting on the screen protector. It is important that your screen is completely clean, otherwise bubbles may appear on it. There are two tabs on the screen protector and you only remove one to apply the screen protector and use the other to hold it on top when putting it on. I started by lining up the right edge of the screen protector on the laptop, bending it slightly and slowly adhering it to the laptop screen, using the edges of the two credit cards together to push out any bubbles that formed. If bubbles form, simply lift the backing up to where the bubble might be and smooth the backing with the edge of the card. I lay the top of the laptop on a soft surface so I can apply more pressure with the edge of a credit card (or something similar with a straight edge that won't damage your laptop screen) when applying the screen protector. The top was parallel to the soft flat surface and the keyboard section was perpendicular to the flat surface (our kitchen island was used as the flat surface). This provides maximum control while smoothing out the screen protector. The screen protector fits the laptop screen almost snugly, so it's important to ensure the leading edge is properly aligned. The keyboard protector is better than some others I've seen in reviews. It is translucent and contains no letters and/or numbers so you won't have the misalignment issues you see with protectors with this feature. I prefer it marked. I sit over the keyboard and close all keys except for the Touch ID button (see image). If you spill liquid on it, it seems that it can seep into the computer around the edges. It should be spill resistant depending on where it lands and should keep particles or crumbs and the like away from the keyboard when it's on the computer. I'm not touching the print, so I can't comment on how the screen protector works for someone with those skills. The last photo shows the laptop with all parts including the screen protector and keyboard protector. Overall I am very happy with this product and think it is good value for money and expect it to last a long time. The lid is very tight so I don't expect it to come off easily with normal use. It does a great job and I love the clean look. I would recommend this case to everyone.
