Very small. I ordered 12-14 and my 11 year old couldn't wear them. My very skinny 9 year old daughter put them on but said they were uncomfortable for her. They would fit under shorts or pajama shorts for my 9 year old but not as separate play shorts. Very thin spandex material that hugs everywhere and reveals everything if you get what I mean. I would say that size 12-14 is suitable for a 7-9 year old child depending on their build.
