Not liquid, this liquid flows through when used. Very soft, gentle on our noses. They are much more practical than paper napkins and are easy to keep in a purse or pocket. After heavy use I just wash them with my laundry, wear them and use them again. Unlike paper napkins, there is no mess or mess, and no added expense for endless paper napkin purchases. Although I'm a woman, I don't mind wearing men's handkerchiefs. They are a good size and good looking.
