Review on Vintage Stretchy Women's Dresses and Accessories: Explore GownTown's Elegant Collection with Belts by Kimberly Evans

Very well tailored cute award winning vintage 1950's dress

My DH and I Went to a birthday party for the TV show Mad Men and after lots of research from Revain I settled on this superb GownTown dress for a 50's look (THANKS to previous reviewers!). I thought about making my own costume, but this dress was cheaper to buy than to make considering the cost of the pattern ($25-$30) and the fabric. Speaking of fabric, this dress has a high percentage of spandex, which allows for good stretch in the sleeves, bust, and waist. I'm 5-2", 118lbs and the little dress was form fitting at the top but not uncomfortable at all (I do NOT have skinny arms). The stretchy, snug fit at the top keeps the dress from being under the weight of a plus-size -Skirts sagging. Concealed back zipper, belt loops in side seams (dress comes with a fabric tie) and black trim are quality details other buyers have said I highly recommend a petticoat to add fullness to the skirt (see photo - Rockabilly style tutu, 26" jumpsuit). The dress is packed in a bag; hang it up for a few days to iron out the creases, and then iron it very gently and patiently with a warm not hot iron. (By the way, the polka dot pattern helps hide wrinkles.) I added a tiny veiled hat, red belt, and red shoes just for fun.Anyway, I made the "Most Dressed Lady" with this outfit Won at the Mad Men party - I left with a prize, a bottle of vodka - very much in the spirit of the Mad Men lovers of the 50's!

Pros
