It's very cute but they don't stretch at all like the picture, or like regular leggings. They are quite stiff and thick and to fold them you can only fold them once otherwise they will just pop open. The length is right. Our 3 year old is 42" and we have the xs but we will be returning them because they don't feel like stretchy leggings at all.
