I was hoping that I would be able to push the metal tab out of the insulator and run it up the cable a few inches and solder the metal tab just as a reinforcement of the installation of the tab but you cant. So, what you do is crimp it super tight and then heat shrink the cable and disconnect together and that makes the wire and disconnect inseparable. I little trick is to slightly heat up the disconnect sleeve before you put the heat shrink tube over the disconnect housing, the heat softens the disconnect housing and makes it so you can crimp it so tight, you would think it was soldered together. All in all, these are good, solid disconnects.
