WARNING: WITH SOLID ADVICE. Exceptional value compared to the Nerf brand, especially the insane retail prices. However, these darts have a hard plastic tip that is not as soft as the originals, making them too stinging for young children. I would recommend an age of 9+ for them, although obviously the pain threshold is subjective. Bottom line - too much for a 5-6 year old, but incredibly fun and fast for everyone else. My family had an EXPLOSION of war with them, especially knowing when you've been hit and an audible "Agh!" which makes it all the more fun.
