I had to buy a video course to really learn TotalMix FX. It was worth it because it's a very powerful software mixer, although it looks confusing at first glance. It becomes your monitoring mixer. I use it with my Babyface Pro for MIDI orchestration. Once I set up my presets in the program. It makes life so easy, but every time you want to change something, clicking those tiny buttons and the master fader gets TIRED. That's why you need ARCUSB, it's a remote device for TotalMix FX. I can control speaker and headphone volume and switch mixes with the push of a button, as well as mute the audio if you need it. Since TotalMix FX has a built-in loop, you can record any audio source on your PC (YouTube Vid, etc.) directly in your DAW. It does require a bit of setup and routing, but once you've made and saved the preset, it becomes a push of a button on the ARC USB. And it's really nice to have that big rotary knob for the main control and with the push of a button you can toggle between the main output and the headphone output. It's worth every dollar, it's all I use now, I'll never touch BabyFace Pro again, it's not necessary.
