I have ordered several of these rope baskets over the years and they are always delivered flat and folded. The kinks never come out. I recently ordered some of these baskets which the product description actually recommends ironing the baskets. I tried this recommendation on these baskets and viola! I was able to flatten the baskets into a perfect oval. In terms of usage, I always find it funny when they put up all sorts of pictures of people using these cotton rope baskets for books or groceries. I've tried them for books and they don't work and for groceries it's not a good idea as they're not easy to clean, especially being white. However, they can work well for pantry items. I find these baskets most useful for facial tissues, diapers, and a basket on the toilet to hold toilet paper and the like. I don't need smaller baskets and keep them to make small gift baskets for friends and family for the holidays.
