I ordered this to replace a lighter weight model that was being used to mount a 65" TV. Technically, a different mount would have sufficed based on weight alone (it was rated at 165 pounds and the TV only weighed 98 pounds), but I wanted to be sure. I'm very glad I did. Due to the larger size, this affects not only the weight, but also the torque. Because the TV is taller, there was more torque, causing the lighter mount to flex a bit against the wall plate. Not much, but enough to make me think it's a good idea to spend a few extra bucks to protect a $2,500+ TV. It was like this. The stronger mounting plate is also taller to withstand the extra torque of the larger TV. . It's very strong, slides out and rotates easily, and was very easy to install. You might not need it for a 65 inch TV but I would definitely recommend it for something bigger!
