Review on PlayStation 5 Demon's Souls by Wisnu Buana ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The right product for me, there were no problems.

± The game is difficult. At the level of Bloodborne and Sekiro. The Souls series is much lighter. ± At first it is not clear where to farm the souls. From the mobs in the starting locations, 10-30 souls fall, if you vacuum the entire location, it is hardly enough for a level. Subsequently, the game makes a very sharp jump, when instead of 10-30 souls fall from mobs around 500, there is no that smooth progression of pumping that appeared already in the Souls series. ± There was a pause in the game, which is unusual for the series. I mean the photo mode - it freezes everything that happens in the game if at that moment there are no other players in the world. By itself, the photo mode is cool, but it renders notably. ± I don't know if the original had a fence-jumping mechanic, but here it is, and it's terribly annoying. It is not always clear which fence you can jump over, and sometimes this animation works right in battle when you try to roll. Commentary: I haven't played the original Demon's Souls on PS3 and haven't seen anyone else's playthroughs, so the game was extremely interesting for me.

Pros
  • + Good graphics, although there is no next-gen; + Excellent performance, 60 FPS without drawdowns, instant downloads; + Excellent quality reworked music; + It's just a good game from the Souls series, delivering similar emotions as the rest of the parts.
Cons
  • - This game could definitely work on PS4, albeit at 30 FPS; - Terrible default camera settings, immediately switched to classic; - The game design is very strange in places. It can be seen that this is a test of the pen. The authors of the remake deliberately left all the mechanics untouched, which, in my opinion, does not benefit the game; - The interface is godlessly outdated, absolutely darling, could be pulled up for a remaster at least to the level of what is in DS1; - Personally, for some reason, I have a disconnect from servers every 20 minutes with access to the main menu; - Character breathing. It confused me even at the first gameplay shows - very loud, really annoying; - You can not run to the side during the lock-on, the character does a roll. Could pull up; - No impact in the fall. Apparently, it was not in the original, and if it were added, then some battles would be broken, but still wildly unusual.
