I often use my laptop in a darkened room, so I like the backlit keys. The chair I'm sitting on is in front of the TV, and in the evening I can't see the buttons without the backlight. The Wi-Fi dongle fitted into the USB socket on the TV and I pulled out the TV remote to launch the web browser. It was easy to type and click while tapping the trackpad to surf and search the web without using a remote pointer and carefully selecting one character at a time from a virtual list of keys. In the dark, these keys are backlit really well, and not just the outline, which is sometimes hard to see on my laptop, but the entire key. The navigation arrows and other elements also light up, giving me good control. I've rarely used the web browser on a big-screen TV in the past, but it's good enough that I'll be using it a lot more in the future so I don't have to boot up my laptop every time I want to flip through a news headline or read an article on the Internet . The device is larger than what I bought four years ago with a similar design. This used batteries and a keyless connection (probably Bluetooth). This one is rechargeable and has a decently sized battery, it might require a battery with brightly backlit buttons. It uses a dedicated 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal, which appears to be more stable than most Bluetooth systems and slightly more responsive. The device has triggers on the front that are likely to be used for gaming. I haven't tested the gaming functionality, but it's there for those who want it. I noticed that the sleep function turns off the light after a few seconds if no buttons are used to save battery. Pressing any button restores the lighting instantly. The back was a little tricky to detach but that's probably a good thing as it doesn't fall off and pops open when not needed. The WiFi dongle is located in a recess on the inside of the device behind the rear battery compartment, which also houses the battery in case you need to replace it in the future. Still a very inexpensive device and ideal for remote devices, particularly TVs, that require keyboard input. The keyboard is a standard QWERTY keyboard, if you have small thin fingers and hands you can probably touch type, but it's too small for most people. Texting isn't a problem because, aside from Shift and Function keys, it only takes one keypress to get a letter or symbol, unlike my cheap clamshell phone where I have to press 1-4 times to get a key that makes the text almost impossible. make it fast. Too bad I can't link this to an old phone. highlighted.
