Attaching the vent is difficult. There are so many types of vents, phones and what people want. The vents aren't rated for every type of weight, but they usually do. Phones are not designed to be placed in front of heaters or air conditioning vents. Maybe a small piece of double ended rod then they probably won't come loose as easily. The magnets are STRONG. The mount protrudes further from the vent than those that simply slide over the vent. tight in design to allow you to rotate your phone. If you want a snug fit, wrap a thin piece of cling film over the ball, then cut and tighten. Then there's the part where your vents rotate up, down, left, or right. Check what you are doing and be sure of the slightest force on the blinds before choosing a permanent position. When removing your phone, use a quick, aggressive tug with your hand, or you'll begin to pull the mount away from the vent. if you pull slowly I can do this without dropping my LoL phone. I keep it.
