When I received the pen and used the brush for the first time as instructed, I opened the other end. As many have described, I saw what I thought was a brush head, a bead-like pad of foam or sponge that appeared to be glued to a flat holder. However, when I first touched the lens, the ball fell off. Many have described it. But here's the thing: As you can see from the pictures, the foam ball is not a cleaning tip and should not be glued to the flat rubber "holder". Instead, the flat rubber holder is a cleaning tip. The foam pad is a refill designed to replenish the cleaning tip each time the pen is capped. The only problem is that sometimes the foam pad can fall out of the cap. But just put it back and close the cap tightly on the pen. I did this and the ball never fell out again. This is a decent product. Enjoy. The rubber tip perfectly removes stains and grease from the lenses. Remember to use a dusting brush first.
