It is small and convenient, but that's where it's pro's stop. The built in lancing device stopped functioning entirely with less than two weeks of normal use. The reading is good enough to give a general idea of where your numbers are but if you are needing the numbers to adjust a sliding scale this product does not give accurate enough readings for that. The reading it gives you is +or- 20 from what your actual glucose measurement is, if you depend on accurate numbers for a strict sliding scale for insulin dosage this product does NOT provide that. The app does provide a convenient record of readings, but if you need to also track medication doses and/or carb intake, the built in functions of the app to do these things are borderline worthless. Every notation must be tied to a reading, which either consumes a test strip or you have to remember to go back and edit later.Bottom line, if you are needing to keep up with your numbers for medical purposes this device is not the choice for you. If you're needing or wanting the convenience of logging data on your phone then choose a meter which synchronizes with your phone via Bluetooth.
