Should have looked at the dimensions better; I've seen it support a cat up to 12 pounds; and it isn't. This is a scratching post for kitty kitty, little kitty. My 12 lb cat is bigger than this scratching post. Honestly I'll probably donate it to an animal shelter because it's so small it fits in a cage I posted a photo of my 8 pound flufer sitting on top of the cat tower.
