Seems to work as advertised. I mainly use it to read SD cards in Surface Pro and connect Surface to TV via HDMI. He does it excellently. I have a fairly minor complaint that it uses the USB1 and USB3 ports on the Surface. However, since it offers additional USB 1 and USB 3 ports, I don't think there's anything to worry about. Another potential downside I discovered when buying a case for my Surface. On the cover there was a plastic partition between the holes for the USB ports, which made it impossible to connect the docking station. I had to cut out the divider to use the docking station through the lid. However, since cutting out the divider didn't seem to affect the integrity of the lid, this was a very minor issue.
