I just got my Lumix TZ1 3 days ago and I've shot over 700 photos! The quality and clarity of the photos is just amazing. The image stabilizer was a huge plus for me, it works almost perfectly and is indispensable with the 10x zoom. The camera is packed with features and many customizable options. The user interface is very intuitive, the camera is easy to operate with one hand. The quality can be seen from the pleasant weight and the solid construction of the case. It also has nice touches like springs on the battery cover, a blocking digital/charge port, and an internal battery for storing the date and time. Using a tripod in Starry Sky scene mode gives excellent results in low light. If you don't want to wait the 30-120 seconds it takes to use Scene Mode, you can set the shutter speed to (1 second), increase the EV level a little, and use the 2-second timer with OIS to eliminate jitter to eliminate. . The results are still pending. Once you are familiar with how the camera works, there are many settings you can adjust to get the best picture. Don't be limited by built-in scenes. Experimentation allows you to use each scene mode's built-in settings for incidents other than those originally intended. Another great feature is the ability to set your own white balance. You simply choose a custom white balance setting (grouped with incandescent, low light, day, etc.), point to the area of the environment you're shooting in (preferably NOT the white area), and the colors will be adjusted accordingly. My favorite aspect of the camera is how easy it is to use. No need to guess how to use it, how to access settings and view photos. The brilliant LCD screen takes the guesswork out of it, and plenty of focus modes combined with optical stabilization almost guarantee a good shot. Widescreen aspect ratio video quality is a lot of fun. I've received many compliments on this camera's value for money. This is a great purchase and I would recommend it to photographers of all levels.
