Here's the end First: the bottom line is that they're only useful in situations where disposable razors are required. Now for the beginning and the apologies: After using their disposable razors for a lifetime, I switched to double-edged razors. Now I understand that Gillette's whole logic doesn't make sense because what they replaced a long time ago was actually better and cheaper. Here's the breakdown: 1. There's always hair stuck in those stupid things that need cleaning, but that doesn't happen with a double-edged blade. 2. Actually they are two folded blades and it is claimed that the first pulls and the other cuts. Visually they appear to be the same type of blades, meaning the first blades pull rather than cut... who said the second blade is better?3. In fact, they are quite expensive. Bulk at least $0.60, in smaller bags about a dollar each. It's a lousy deal considering Feather DE blades are considered expensive at around $0.22 while most other popular blades like the Shark are $0.06 (yes, only around 6 cents). So you're paying 10 to 16 times more for the plastic thrown away?4. Here's the only plus of these blades: they can be carried on a planer. I'm pretty sure the TSA doesn't allow a double-edged sword in the booth. So they may be suitable for travel. Full Disclosure: To be honest, after Gillette's idiotic attacks on men, I decided to experiment with other options. Why? Because when you respond positively to bad marketing, it only gets worse. I don't accept the fashionable concept of defaming my own customers. Ironically, Gillette killed the golden goose. Alte Welt DE shaving is better, cheaper and amazingly OPEN SOURCE! Double Edge is an open standard. You can mix different razors with different blades. Maybe today I want a sharp blade, maybe I want a soft blade, I have options. Now I'm not locked into an "ecosystem" anymore. Oh ladies, have you seen what they charge you for? Yes, they hate you too. I will be very nice and give it 4 out of 5 points. You don't really deserve it, but I'm a pretty good person. Too bad Gillette never learned to be the best.
