Good for multiple purposes.
It was supposed to be for a newborn but we bought this for our 18 month old girl who has started crawling out of her crib. We tie her between her legs, which allows her to walk but doesn't raise her leg high enough to climb out. That's a long time for our baby. If we hadn't tied him up, she would have tripped over the cocks. She's a little small for her age, but not by much. I think it would be huge for a newborn.
