They are definitely equipped. I'm 5ft 8in, 150lbs, athletic build, I can squat decently but nothing amazing. I wear skinny jeans in 29/32 and usually don't have much of a problem with ready-to-wear. The legs are tight on them and I train with the stretch material while riding. Think of it like loose spandex pants instead of tight regular pants. I think for the average person, upsizing should be the default unless you prefer a tighter fit. The feet are well tapered and extra material folds up nicely at the ankle and offers a bit more toe protection when your knees are bent. I am planning to buy more pants to stock up on decent riding pants at a very reasonable price. I can try on a pair to wear fleece tights.
