Correct MEDIUM is boy or 6EE adult size. I know because I got the right size last year. This refers to socks with an ankle circle, haven't bought new ones (winter 2020) to comment on the size of these. The larger ones will be too long on the leg, like most 9-12 adult socks. I gave mine to a friend who works outdoors and he loves it. Other than that, these are the best cold weather socks I've ever worn. PERIOD.
