These liners are very good at keeping fingers dry (sweat free) and providing extra warmth (layer of air) when used with thicker leather gloves. with balaclavas from Under Armor Cold Gear, but after one season they started to fall apart. It was a much cheaper alternative and they worked just as well as the UA Pads but without the rubberized palm/finger "hook" to tug on the inside of my heavier riding gloves. Finger stitching is quite good and only one finger feels like I have extra material pressing down on my finger (slight irritation) but nothing I can't stand. Because it's a "thermal layer" lining, they won't block the wind when worn alone. These are liner gloves and should be worn under thicker gloves as a moisture-wicking, insulating layer. My hands sweat when I'm cold, and these pads keep my hands dry (and therefore warmer) by wicking moisture away from my skin. UPDATE 12/29/13. 40 degrees frost, dense clouds, strong gusts of wind and wet. downright miserable. My fingertips got really cold remembering those glove liners in my luggage compartment! Although they were cold when I put them on, my hands/fingers quickly warmed up in my heavier gloves. The rest of the way home (about an hour) my fingers didn't freeze!
