Comparison with Pop Socket: No. Damaged finger.

**Original Rating: 3 Stars** (Update below, towards the end) I've been using Pop Sockets for years and the main reason I wanted to try YubiLoop is that with my iPhone 11 (significantly larger and heavier than my previous phone), the Pop Socket caused pain and muscle fatigue in my fingers and hands. Despite the obvious advantages The Pop Socket concentrates the phone's weight right in the center of the pop. That's why I wanted to try the YubiLoop: more even weight distribution and hopefully less fatigue. The YubiLoop consists of two parts: a base that attaches to your phone and a loop that slides up and down the base. Both are made of plastic. The base is rigid and the hinge is fairly rigid but with some flexibility. Pros: More reliable than pop socket. Slimmer profile (4mm) compared to Pop Socket (7mm). The more even weight distribution than the Pop Socket is a big help. with muscle fatigue. - Cool that there is a second loop with a different design to replace styles. Cons: - Slow to turn on and requires two hands. (Pop Socket instantly snaps into place with one hand.) It's literally impossible to pop the loop open with one finger. - Too difficult to replace the hinge for the second design. - Can actually only be used vertically. (Pop Socket allows use at any angle.) - After multiple uses, the loop will never lie flat again. Full review of the pros and cons above: One of the pros of Pop Socket is that I can grab the phone with one hand (two fingers) and QUICKLY stick out the pop-up from any angle and then rotate the phone to any view I want can angle . YubiLoop is clearly not fast. Its retractable mechanism is rigid and requires two hands. And it's impossible to use the hinge to hold the phone horizontally. You can only hold it vertically. This is great for IG scrolling, but very annoying when trying to browse YouTube, for example. Loop replacement seems easy, but I had a very hard time getting the top hinge mount out of the base. I had to use considerable force and eventually it gave way (forcing me to slam my hand on the table). This whole process was too complicated in my opinion. I've only been using the YubiLoop for a few days, but the part of the loop stays in a raised/curved shape the whole time, even when stretched to its full length. You can crush it by force, but it doesn't stay that way, and that's annoying because the phone doesn't rest on your back at all. YubiLoop has a thinner profile (4mm) compared to Pop Socket (7mm). This allows your phone to fit into *some* car mounts that you can't use with Pop Socket. Has YubiLoop helped with the fatigue I was feeling from Pop Socket? YES SIR. But overall I don't know yet I like it better. Now I realize I want something as fast as the Pop Socket, so I'm looking at an elastic strap as an option. ** Rating updated a week later: 1 star ** This thing is such a headache *** I downgraded my rating to 1 star. Other reviewers might have a very different experience with the YubiLoop, which is cool. Honestly, I'm happy when people find what suits them. Turns out this thing just doesn't work for me and I haven't had a good experience with it for the past week, as I wanted to point out a couple of things here: The plastic hinge is still ridiculously stiff even after constant daily use, and yet it takes two hands (ie at least four fingers) to open and operate the item. This is incredibly frustrating and annoying. The loop is sharp on one side and cuts into the back of the base of my index finger. See fig. I hold the loop of the phone and keep pressing the sharp side against the wound. Because of my job (clinical chiropractor) I *cannot* have a permanent wound here. For these reasons, I removed YubiLoop from my phone and returned to my Pop Socket. I threw away YubiLoop. For me it was an unsuccessful attempt to find a replacement for my pop socket so the search continues. YMMV. I threw away YubiLoop.
