They color best when fed solid food.
I love these spoons; They were the perfect size for my baby when he started eating solids. And because it's dishwasher safe and made out of silicone, it was easy to clean and soft on gums. I will say, however, that there will be (lots of baby spoons, it seems) stains; especially with orange foods like carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, etc. So for orange foods I use a regular teaspoon and for other foods I use that. If they could make that small change I would buy dozens of them.
