Updates may affect Apple's charging capabilities

Originally bought to allow drivers to charge their phone, it was recently repurposed for office use. After the Apple update for the iPod, a message appears and I can no longer charge. Disappointed but expected cheaper third party cables. Attention Apple buyers!
