Great pliers! These OEM pliers seem to be exactly the same as the long reach needle nose offering from Harbor Freight. However there are some differences to be noted. (Metal finish, branding, and grip color)Now most people don’t know this but factories in china offer the same tool to different companies by adding some differences such as packaging, color of handles, polishing surfaces, branding, etc. and this determines the price the company pays to have them made and then in turn, the price they charge to the consumer which is why you will see price differences in what appears to be the exact same tool with a different brand on it. Harbor freight orders these in bulk so they are cheaper. (You’ll fins them in a bin loosely for a few bucks per pair. Now sometimes you will get a pair that has teeth that don’t line up correctly or aren't straight at the tip. My OEM pair looks flawless but I’ve picked up some pittsburgh pairs from Harbor Freight that did have quality control issues. I typically had to sort through a few pairs to find one that had a good fitment matchup. This is another big reason for the price gap difference. The OEM pair of long reach needle nose variant has green dipped grips and a more "polished” metal. My pair is also "drop free” or "fall free” which means you don’t need to use force to separate them. They will "fall” or "drop” open when holding vertically like a pair of scissors. Now, i WAS able to get the same results with my Pittsburgh pair of long reach needle nose from harbor freight but it required soaking in Balistol oil for some time and working the pliers to get these results. The OEM came BUTTERY smooth right out of my package. (Something worth noting)Now is the price difference worth it? For me, yes. I love green colored tools to match my Kawasakis. (Yes I’m one of them guys) But i also like the more polished finish to the metal and the "drop free” joint without needing to oil or work them to "break” them in so to speak. Just take them out of the package and go right to using them. No breaking in needed. Are these OEM pliers polished like a new snap on ratchet? No. But they have been cleaned up and present well. Certainly better than the Pittsburgh pair i got from Harbor Freight. Something that’s worth noting as well, I always coat my tools in Balistol oil which cures and protects metal. It adds a nice layer of protection to the tool and keeps rust from forming. I recommend EVERYONE does this!Take care of your tools and they’ll take care of you.Now how are the teeth? They are great as long as they are kept clean. A nylon or brass wire brush will clean the teeth should any grease or debris get caught in the teeth with many uses. Are they as "grabby” or aggressive as my Wiha or Snap on needle nose? No. But at $15 it’s a really nice set of pliers. I can honestly recommend these!I love buying and using tools as i use them daily for work and working on my vehicles and motorcycles. For $15 these are a great buy. I’m very happy with my purchase.Overall I’d give these OEM pliers an 8/10. They work, they’re built well. Could they be better? Yeah. But Long reach needle nose pliers aren’t exactly something I use a ton so they aren’t something that sees heavy use and abuse. But, when we need them they’re a great tool to have. These will last someone easily a lifetime as long as they are cared for and not left outside to the elements. There are better pairs but are easily 2x to 4x the cost of the OEM pair. These also claim limited lifetime warranty but at the price of these should they break a few years down the road or something other than that at $15 I’d just buy another pair.Hope this review helps you make an informed decision! Love mine and i hope you do too!
