Thought I would break them by stretching. I think they are made larger for thinner, smaller napkins. Some were smaller than others, and the elastic was like a thin rubber band. I'm not sure what I would have bought if I had known. Since I don't remove them and only use them for garnishes, I think I'm on the safe side, otherwise you might get embarrassed using dinner guests if they break while eating... Just like that.
