This is probably the best baby monitor

So you can have lots of fun on the go. CONGRATULATIONS! You're now trying to figure out what to do to keep an eye on the little bug, right? Well let me help! Miku is the system you need to buy. There are others, but they are either underrepresented or too useless. It's not ideal. In fact, there are some things that are really annoying, but it does its job very well. GOOD - Pretty good quality camera. It shoots night vision very well, everything is fine with the color. Connects to WIFI without too much trouble (you'll need the 2.4MHz band, which you probably have, but it might be phased out one day). It streams audio and video to your device anywhere, which comes in handy when you have to go the long way to your mailbox. The app also does an excellent job of capturing video of motion events (they appear to be from when I installed them, which is something you typically pay for in home monitoring) and actual sleep/motion/wake -Color chart is really accurate and useful. You can "talk" about it, take photos, hear surrounding sounds and generally keep an eye on your baby. BAD - You may need special gear to have in more than one location. They sell a coaster and a lanyard but they sold out by Christmas and it was too expensive for the lanyard. They also have some features that DO NOT WORK. And these features can really give you an idea that this thing isn't working properly. For example breath tracking. That does not work. It shows an EKG chart when nobody is in the crib! This is very very bad. Linked no motion alerts and alarms DO NOT WORK. Turn them off, they only give you white hair. Finally, it's a little tricky to share the feed on multiple devices - you have to generate code for them in the app and then port that code to additional devices. Not very intuitive, but we solved this problem in a few minutes. Okay, that being said, here's what you have: a great baby monitor that streams to your phone. That means either your regular phone or an old one (I use the old one) should be plugged in at the bedside. It can also transmit sound when you turn off the screen, which is nice to have in your pocket. What you don't have is a magical device that analyzes your baby's chest to measure their breathing and heart rate. HE SHOULD NEVER EXPLAIN THIS. We almost sent it back when we saw how poorly these features worked. But the alternative is another useless device if your child wears a special sleeping bag or sock. If this is your first baby sounds great but trust me you will NOT be able or willing to put them on after every 3 hour feeding or changing interval. It's just impractical and you won't use it (after that first week you'll feel obligated). So with these things, Miku does an excellent job of streaming video and audio to your phone. The app has some cool analysis and a great historical video (you'll want to know how it was once turned upside down or turned left to right, and the automatic video recording will solve those little mysteries). It's a bit expensive. It has features that they should immediately remove and forget about (unless they can program them properly). They'll want to give you a dime if you want to take it on vacation or have a second place (I installed another cable in the bedroom for that first month and just moved the camera head to where it sleeps that night). But he does his job and does it well. If you have a spare phone or two (we almost always have it on the couch on the monitor) this is the device to get. 4 out of 5 points for Ravenclaw.
