Might need an extra component for DRL

These headlights work great as the 12v high beam in my 2006 Lexus RX330. However, they may require an additional component, a CANBUS compensator/decoder, to function properly as DRLs at 6V in this and some other vehicles. With a suitable decoder/compensator they are also fantastically effective as fluorescent lamps. In fact, they are much better than the original halogen bulbs, maintaining their color temperature of 5700Β°K on both voltage inputs. Have you ever noticed old Lexus models with sickly yellow daytime running lights? This is what a halogen bulb looks like when you turn it on at half power. With them at 6V or 12V they look *very* close to the bright white stock Xenon HID low beams. Based on research by the Lexus Core User Group, I believe that other Lexus models using the same bulb with 12V for high beam and 6V for DRL need a suitable CANBUS decoder/compensator to work as DRL.
