I've installed them on four different laptops, some with cameras over the LCD and others next to the strap. They all work well and don't excel in being installed after sale. All laptops still close from lens covers with no extra clearance, although I imagine some PCs don't, check clearance before buying. I like having a lens cap that can be moved by hand. Better than the tape solution I had before. Note that some other reviewers said they are metal, they are definitely plastic. still works fine
