To be honest I didn't read the product description before buying lol. I was surprised how soft and light this bag is. A plastic tube is sewn into the bag which helps maintain the oval shape. I would need to put a lightweight makeup bag inside to safely carry my essentials - phone, lipstick, lip balm etc. I find it more convenient to carry the bag with a handle than a strap as I don't think the strap can do that support weight. Other than that, this is a cute handbag to use on vacation or whenever it goes with my outfits.
