Plastic rivets similar to those used to attach tags to fabric but with a BB ball on the outside. I don't know why they didn't make a lower profile before the button but it works. I would have liked the letter "T" in the shirt (or ?) to be a bit stronger. But again it seems to work. Using one rivet per button feels secure but feels loose - the button is not tight against the fabric. A few rivets don't affect the strength of the button, they just create a warmer feeling that the button is secure. With my bad hands and trifocals, this gadget is the best needle and thread!
