Needs Improvement - Storage and Organization

Miles Kimball's Pie Keeper does what it's supposed to do, but it has room for improvement. My biggest complaint is that the lid is attached to the bottom with a plastic hinge. With this design, you need twice as much space to work with the open cake server. It would be nice if the lid was removable to make it easier to work with and to stack the blocks more compactly if you have more than one. Just take a knife and cut the loop off, which I'll do once I've lived with it a little longer. Miles Kimball's Pie Keeper is quite deep, which is fine for deep pies, but its depth is a bit excessive for a standard-deep pie. It would be nice if they steamed them at different depths to bake cakes of different thicknesses. The depth it goes to is fine for a deep bowl apple or cherry pie with a top crust, but might not be deep enough for a deep bowl meringue pie where the cook really piles the meringue. Designs for how their lids snap onto their bases. Miles Kimball's sleeve design works, but I would have felt better with a shaped hem at the bottom to allow the lid to snap open than the sleeve design used. I'm guessing if you accidentally drop Miles Kimball with the cake inside, the lid will pop open and the cake will spill all over the floor. Miles Kimball works but could be improved.
