I bought this battery to replace my Midlands that no longer holds a charge. I have the GXT series and we mostly use them on our hikes. Well, summer is here and the hikes are fast approaching, so we headed to Revane to find a replacement. Of course, there are many variations of these batteries (and most batteries in general) here at Revain and I originally only wanted to buy a few more from Midland. However, they are more expensive and have terrible reviews. I was happy to see that there were some others available at a fraction of the cost, but after reading reviews of several different batteries it seems that buying one of these 'cheaper' batteries is really random. Well, I took a chance and chose this one. However, the first thing that struck me after inspecting these batteries is that they are not made by Hitech and do not have an 800mAh capacity. I noticed that some other later reviews also mentioned this but assumed it was just a shipping error. I wanted to use 800mAh batteries because of the increased battery life. "mAhβ stands for milliamp hours, and going from 700 to 800 gives you about 14.29% more battery life. So I was a little disappointed when I saw that it wasn't exactly what was advertised. However, I do need batteries and because of the cheap price I just decided to stick with it. They charged perfectly with my Midland charger. Both lights were solid red while charging and both batteries were getting hot, indicating something was happening to them. I charged them for about 14 hours. It says to charge them for 16 hours, but I had to go to work and I didn't want these things sitting in the cradle all day exploding or catching fire. I've had them for 3 days now, they hold a charge well. I've been playing with it around the house with my four year old and so far everything has worked perfectly. The batteries are called Fenzer, not Hitech, and it's also important to note that they don't have an 800mAh capacity. For now, however, they're working fine, and I'll definitely post updates if I run into an issue.
