I have to say that this lantern exceeded all my expectations. I have a cheaper ring light that I bought a while back. Although it did its job of capturing small subjects, my needs have grown since then. The box it came in was nice and heavy and well packaged. After opening everything up I was concerned that there would be many parts that would need to be assembled. However, this was not the case at all. I was on my feet in minutes. The flashlight itself comes with a carrying case so you can put everything back in. I only wish there was room or a tripod strap/mount in the bag. It would really help keep everything nice and tidy. No big deal. These are the characteristics of the products. The tripod itself is the perfect size for me. It can stand quite tall when fully extended. I noticed that the tripod legs don't always stay straight. So make sure it's installed before you weigh it. the light itself is very bright and ranges from pleasantly warm to bright white. There is a single scroll button that is easy to control. You can change the brightness from 20% to 100% and the color temperature from 3300K to 5600K. I'm far from a professional photographer these days, but the photos I can take with this ring light and a simple cell phone are amazing. I'm really impressed with the light output and range it allows. It can even be used to light up a room at a party. You can even mount your camera/phone holder in or on the circle for added flexibility. There are two clamps for standard Sony batteries, even if you want to be mobile without a power outlet. The batteries themselves are not included. It's good that they're up to Sony's standard, though, as they're readily available and you probably already have the add-ons. For me the wall plug is fine for my applications and use and the cord alone is quite long as it is. I tried to make a video to demonstrate real-time color and temperature changes with some freshly picked sunflowers. I've also attached some photos to it. Photos are fine; general lighting of the room, 3300K at 20%, 3300K at 100%, 5600K at 100%, 5600K at 20%. As you scroll through the photos, you'll notice a difference in how the colors of the flowers explore various similar hues. Overall, at this price point, this is definitely a 5 star purchase. I would buy again.
