Wow! I would not have expected such good espresso, foam and steamed milk from a cheap machine. For five years I used a Saeco Automatic Vienna (expensive) espresso machine at home every day and bought lattes on the go. But when I agreed to babysit my 3 grandchildren (under 6) out of state for 2 weeks while their parents went to Hawaii, I knew I wouldn't have much of a chance buying my daily dose. So my sister-in-law bought me this Mr. Coffee Steam Espresso for me while I was at their house. I'm surprised by the ease of use and the quality of the results. There are a few key steps you need to follow to make consistently good lattes/cappuccinos. Only use espresso beans that have been ground to an espresso state essential for a strong espresso flavor; pack ground espresso coffee in the brew basket, don't just put it in; Brew to the steam mark on the glass carafe, then steam/foam as needed and complete the brew cycle to the desired amount of espresso. To be on the safe side, follow the instructions closely, being especially careful not to remove the water tank lid or brew basket until the pressure is released, which I do by turning the knob to steam and releasing the pressure through the frothing tube . Follow directions, use ground espresso coffee, and you'll have great-tasting and looking drinks with no "explosions"! If my expensive espresso machine ever breaks, I'll save money and buy one for home use.
