To be honest I have no idea how to check if it works or not. We've used it a few times this summer but I really don't know - we had some kind of smell coming out of the toilet and both sinks so I threw one of them down the toilet. In fact, I can't tell if this solved any particular issue, which I believe was due to draining the tanks before the hike. I guess I made some sort of mess and the smells started coming. But after this trip, as always, I emptied the tanks and poured another pill down the toilet. Super easy process of course. It comes in a small container with 12 tablets per sachet. Appears to be inexpensive.
