We have a red inflatable horse from this company that we bought a few years ago and it's one of those toys that we use every day. Both kids love it but my oldest is growing up a bit to really enjoy it to the fullest. He chose this one. His size is in the 4th and 90th percentile and I would say that size is close to perfect. Lots of room to grow and use, but not too big for him. If I were buying for an average height 3 year old I would definitely choose 15 inches. For the younger ones I would recommend the horse form. red horse (feels like thick vinyl). It seems sturdy enough, but I don't think I'll be using it outdoors. It's worth the price (about $10).
