The makers of these old school hole punches seem to add a lot of plastic to their devices so I went with this one. It's strong, durable, resilient and made almost entirely of metal. The thing works great and is powerful. The only thing that worries me is that the bottom shell looks a little plastic and is easy to crack, and since it's basically an unnamed manufacturer who receives parts to replace what's lost or broken is, this would not be possible. I guess, that a bottom pan or cutting heads from a similar mainstream company might be suitable, but with normal use and simple care they will last for many years. This is a nice, sturdy, metal device.
