In the past, I've been able to connect a PC keyboard to a smartphone and get by. Even while the Win key can be used in place of Command, Alt-Option, etc., it might be inconvenient when entering lengthy passages of text. After connecting the Magic Keyboard, you may feel like you need some time to adjust, but after 10 minutes, you'll never want to go back to your old keyboard. You can easily access all of the various punctuation marks (after getting used to the native keyboard of the MacBook, of course). The act of typing becomes enjoyable. The device's price tag may be too much to bear, but Apple products and the Mac operating system have never been known for their affordability.
